#: 

  • 510/eGo adapter: An adaptor that screws into the threading to change it from 510 to eGo.
  • 510 Thread: The threading at the head of the mod or battery into which the tank is placed.
  • 510 Drip Tip: A mouthpiece designed for use with a 510 tank.
  • 810 Drip Tip: A mouthpiece designed to be used with an 810 tank.
  • 18350 Battery: A battery with a capacity of up to 800 mAh that works with 18350 mods.
  • 18490/18500 Battery: A battery of up to 1300mAh capacity is suitable with mods that need an 18500 battery.
  • 20700 Battery: Greater in size than an 18650. In terms of mAh capacity, it is twice as large. Usually found in mods that use 20700 batteries.
  • 26650 Battery: A battery made specifically for use with mods that use 26650 cells.

A: 

  • Airflow Control (AFC): AFC-enabled devices allow users to manage the quantity of air they receive while vaping; the less air they get, the "tighter" the draw (inhale)
  • Atomizer: The warming component of an e-cigarette. Wicking fabric, often pure Japanese cotton, will be woven through it.
  • Atomizer Head: This is where the coil and wick are found in an atomizer.
  • All Day Vape (ADV): An e-liquid that you can vape without altering flavours all day.
  • Amperage (Amps): Electrical current measurement
  • Automatic: An e-cigarette that lacks a power button.
  • Analogue Cigarettes: Quintessential cigarettes  

B: 

  • Battery: This is where the power for your device will come from so that it may be turned on and used.
  • Bottom Coil Clearomizer (BCC): Bottom-mounted clearomizer with a single coil (base)
  • Bottom Vertical Coil Clearomizer (BVC): A clearomizer with vertically positioned coils rather than horizontally installed coils.
  • Box Mod: A box-shaped device normally takes four batteries, depending on the design. Box mods can be mechanical (for use with an RDA) or variable wattage, letting the vaper to adjust the power of the device.
  • Building: Coil fabrication and wicking for an RTA or RDTA
  • Build Deck: This is the deck where you will be making coils. It is positioned beneath the cap of a rebuildable tank or RDA.
  • Bottom Dual Coil Clearomizer (BDC): A bottom coil clearomizer with dual coils. A BDC creates greater clouds and a more intense throat hit than a single coil clearomizer, but it has a lower battery life.
  • Bottom Feeder: This is basically another term for clearomizers with the atomiser located at the coil's base.

C: 

  • Clearomiser: A pen-style tank with a capacity of 0.5ml to 1.8ml. This item's body is made of plastic.
  • Clone: A clone is a forgery of a legitimate product made using inferior materials; also, clones are not subjected to the same testing as authentic products, placing you at danger if you use one.
  • Cloud Chaser: A vaper who wishes to maximize the production of clouds.
  • Clouds: This is what comes out of a vape when in use; the official name for it is vapour.
  • Coil: The heating element enclosed within a tank, clearomizer, or RDA.
  • Competition Cap: A RDA case meant to boost performance by enabling more air to access the coils.
  • Connection Pin: A safety feature featured on various mods that turns the power off after 10 seconds of continuous functioning 
  • Chain Vaping: When you quickly and continuously vape on your device, you're leaving no pause between puffs. 
  • Cigalike: A vape that looks like a traditional cigarette, mostly in shape but some cigalikes come in the same colour as cigarettes (brown-ish bottom, white top) 
  • CASAA: The Association for Consumer Advocacy for Smoke-Free Alternatives is a non-profit organisation that advocates for the use of smoke-free alternatives. A non-profit organisation that provides assistance to vapers.

D: 

  • Direct Lung Inhale: Sub-ohm devices are ideal for direct-to-lung (DTL) inhalation, which is when you breathe in the vapours straight without pausing in your mouth.
  • Dripper: The moniker of an RDA
  • Drip Tip: The mouthpiece of the vape. It comes in a range of designs.
  • Dry Burn: This is when you heat your coil to burn off extra juice; be careful with this procedure because it can burn out your coil if done for too long.
  • Dry Hit: When you take a puff from a vape with a burnt coil, you will immediately taste it, indicating that the coil needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
  • Disposable E-Cigarette: An e-cigarette that is constructed entirely of one piece, eliminating the need for maintenance, refilling, or charging. When it is depleted, the user just discards it.
  • Dripping: This is when you drip fluid onto your coil before using it; when compared to a conventional vape, this method provides excellent flavour.

E: 

  • E-Cig: A more evocative term for e-cigarettes
  • E- Juice: A different, yet still valid, term for e-liquid.
  • eGo Battery: A 4.2V battery structured like a pen
  • Electronic Cigarette: Alternative title for a vape
  • External Battery: External battery-powered devices can substitute out batteries when they run low, removing the need to wait for charging.
  • External Charging: Recharging the battery with a dedicated charger
  • ECITA: The Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association is a trade association that represents the electronic cigarette industry. The e-cigarette sector in the United Kingdom is represented by this organisation. Members pay a monthly fee, must observe strict restrictions, and are subject to thorough audits twice a year.
  • Electronic Cigar: An electronic cigarette in the format of a cigar.
  • Electronic Cigarette Starter Kits: Starter kits often provide batteries, atomizers, chargers, papers, and cartridges.
  • E-Smoking: One further term for vaping.

F: 

  • Flavour Chasing: Someone who values flavour over clouds; they want the greatest tasting vape imaginable and are ready to give up clouds to obtain it.
  • Flooding: Excess e-liquid in the coil creates leaks and an atrocious gurgling sound.
  • Filler Material: E-cigarette cartridges contain a material that draws in e-liquid.

G: 

  • Grub Screws: Screws in the posts of an RBA holds the coil fully in place.
  • Gurgling: When the coil is completely overly saturated with e-liquid, you will hear your device gurgle; it is a very distinct noise.

H: 

  • Hot Spot: If a coil is not properly rebuilt, it can overheat, causing one of the wraps to heat up faster than the others. As a result, the cotton burns, breaks, or melts in some circumstances.

I: 

  • Inhale: Inhaling vapours while operating your device
  • Internal Battery: A device with a built-in battery that cannot be removed; such devices must be charged via a cable.

J: 

  • Juice: Another word for e-liquid

K: 

  • Kanthal: This material is used to construct rebuildable coils.

L: 

  • Leaking: This occurs when liquid leaks from an unexpected location, equivalent to a leak in your kitchen's plumbing; in vaping terms, this liquid is your e-juice.
  • Liquid: The substance you fill your tank with, also known by many other names such as juice, e-liquid etc. 
  • Low Resistance: Low resistance is defined as any device having a resistance less than 0.20ohms.
  • LED: LEDs are used in many vapes; they are basically lights that convey relevant information; for example, when you vape a disposable, the base will light up to show that you are inhaling vapour

M: 

  • mAh: The volume of a battery is measured in milliamps per hour.
  • Menthol: A different name for mint in an e-liquid.
  • MG: Milligrammes (MG) is an abbreviated form of milligrammes, which is used to measure the amount of nicotine.
  • Micro USB: Most electronic devices feature a charging port, albeit Micro USB is being phased out in favour of the newer USB-C standard.
  • Mint: In e-juice, mint is another name for menthol.
  • Mod: The mod is the main body of your vape; within a mod are your batteries, and on the front of a mod, depending on the device, is a touch screen that you can use to set the wattage, temperature control, and so on.
  • Modders: People that build their own mods; the more seasoned the vaper, the more probable their own built mods are of good quality.
  • Mouthpiece: The raised bit at the top of your device, this is where you put your mouth around to fully inhale everything
  • MTL: MTL is an abbreviation for mouth to lung. Unlike DTL (direct to lung), which sends the vapour right into your lungs, MTL sends it through your mouth and then into your lungs.

N: 

  • Ni80 Coil: Ni80 is a nickel wire and so Ni80 Coils are coils made from nickel wire
  • Ni200 Wire: Ni200 is a temperature sensing capable nickel wire therefore it is used in mods with temperature control. 
  • Nic Shot: A little bottle of pure nicotine that can be added to short fills to provide nicotine.
  • Nicotine Booster: The full name for a nic shot
  • Nicotine: A substance found in some e-liquids and all nic salts, provides a throat kick and is highly addictive.

O:

  • O-Ring: A rubber seal, which is frequently found at the bottom of a tank, prevents leakage.
  • Ohm: This is a measurement of the resistance of a coil.
  • Organic Cotton: It is employed as a wicking material inside most coils due to its high absorbency.

P: 

  • Parallel Box Mod: This is a device with several batteries. The battery life of Parallel Box Mods is longer, but the power does not change.
  • Pass Through: A device which can be used while it is being charged.
  • Pen Style: A vaping gadget around the length and width of a pen.
  • PG: PG is a flavouring ingredient that can be found in e-liquid.
  • Positive and Negative Posts: They are found in an RBA and is where the coil's legs are located.
  • Priming: When you add just a few drops of e-liquid to the cotton of your coil, you guarantee that it is suitably saturated and that you do not receive a dry hit.
  • Protected Battery: A battery that includes a security chip They have an elevated top and are incompatible with devices that use variable wattage.
  • Pull: When you use your vape, you take a pull, which is another way of saying "vape."
  • Primer Puff: When you use your vape to activate the coil, you take a small drag. This is normally not necessary unless you haven't used your device in a long time.

R:

  • RBA: Rebuildable atomiser base for tanks with typical coils 
  • RDA: Rebuildable Dripping Atomiser 
  • RDTA: Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomiser 
  • RTA: Rebuildable tank: A tank that makes use of homemade coils 
  • Resistance: The resistance of the coil (measured in Ohms). More clouds and heat equals lower resistance.

S: 

  • Series Box Mod: A mod that employs more than one battery. A series box mod is the reverse of a parallel box mod in that it boosts power while compromising battery life.
  • Squonking: When using a device with a bottom-fed RDA, the mod has a tube that lets liquid to go up to it when the bottle inside is gently compressed (or squonked).
  • Stacking batteries: A dangerous method of enhancing the power of a device by using multiple batteries – please don't do this, it's not worth risking.
  • Starter kit: They are simple devices that are especially suitable for MTL inhalation and are intended for inexperienced vapers.
  • Stealth vaping: Devices that are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and create minimal, if any, vapour.
  • Steel mesh: Another kind of wicking material seen in some RDAs.
  • Steeping: When an e-liquid is first manufactured, the flavour may be adequate but not remarkable; steeping occurs when the maker allows the bottle to sit for a period of time, allowing the flavours to blend and produce a better taste.
  • SS316L: A type of stainless steel wire used for making coils
  • Sub-Ohm: A coil with a resistance of 0.99 ohms or less.
  • Sweet Spot: Finding your sweet spot in vaping refers to determining the optimal wattage and/or temperature setting for you. Manufacturers will always recommend a wattage range for their coils; for example, VooPoo's PnP-VM6 coil is best between 60W and 80W.
  • Smoke Juice: A rarely used term for e-liquid 

T: 

  • Tank: This is where you will keep your e-liquid and where your coil will be.
  • Temp Control (TC): A temperature control mod lets you change the temperature of your vape, which automatically modifies the power that flows to your coil, maintaining your coil and vape at the temperature you specify. Coils made of nickel, titanium, NiChrome, or stainless steel are the only ones that can be used for TC.
  • Throat Hit: The sensation felt in the back of your throat as a result of vaping or smoking. Higher PG e-liquids give a stronger throat punch. Nic shots can also affect throat hits; an e-liquid containing nicotine will have a harsher hit than an e-liquid that does not include nicotine.
  • Ti Coil: A coil made of titanium wire, a Ti coil is also capable of sensing temperature
  • Tricks: Tricks in the vaping business are when you exhale with flair; a simple trick is puffing rings, while the helix tornado is a more intricate trick.

U: 

  • Unicorn Bottle: A bottle with a needle tip that is used for storing e-liquid, these bottles are widely used thanks to their aforementioned needle tip which allows the user to precisely fill their tank from the bottle without any mess
  • Unprotected Battery: A battery that lacks any built-in protection. Because the mods that use them have internal power control, unprotected batteries pose no risk.
  • Unregulated Mod: A mod with no wattage control will use the most power from the batteries. Unregulated mods are meant for use with rebuildable tanks and dripping atomizers.

V: 

  • Vape Band: A rubber ring that goes around the glass tube of your tank to prevent it from shattering if it is dropped.
  • Vape Juice: A substitute term for e-liquid.
  • Vaper: A person who uses an e-cigarette of any kind from a disposable to a bulky sub-ohm kit
  • Vaper’s Tongue: Vaper's Tongue is a condition that occurs when you use a specific flavour for an extended period of time, causing you to lose your ability to taste it. The solution is to try several flavours and vape them for a week or two before returning to your top pick, and you should be able to taste it.
  • Vaping: This is the act of using your vape device, the inhaling and exhaling process is called vaping.
  • Vapour: This is the proper name for the "clouds" produced by vaping.
  • Vent Holes: These are typical on most mods and are included to permit the battery to vent, which is when gases are released; this is a critical function.
  • Venting Battery: When the battery is not used appropriately, it might cause damage to your device and injury to you.
  • VG:  Vegetable glycerine. A necessary component in the manufacturing of e-liquid, the higher the VG, the more clouds you may create with that liquid.
  • Voltage Drop: This happens when your device loses power due to a problem with its chip, materials, or unsecured posts.
  • Volts: A measurement of the capacity of your battery.
  • VW: Variable wattage, essentially the power setting on your vape. The higher the wattage the more powerful your vape will be   

W: 

  • Wire: Used in the fabrication of coils for heating elements.
  • Wicking: Material that absorbs your juice before delivering it to the coil for vaporisation. Cotton is a typical substance used to manufacture wicking material.
  • Wrap: The outer skin that preserves a battery or mod from wear and tear.

Z: 

  • Zero Nic: Zero Nic is another term for liquids without any nicotine in them, for example short fills are always zero nic.
