TPD Compliance
The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is a new set of rules and regulations that came into effect in May 2016 in the United Kingdom and the European Union. The TPD establishes particular laws for the sale and manufacture of e-cigarettes and e-liquids in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Before a vaping product may be sold in the UK or the EU, it must be fully compatible with the TPD.
The TPD's goal is to increase safety and educate people about the risks of purchasing nicotine-containing products. The TPD also emphasises the importance of e-cigarette and vaping goods being over the age of 18.
What does this all mean?
- Because companies may not be able to comply with the new laws and so will not be authorised to sell in the UK or EU market, the selection of e-liquids and e-cigarettes available may be reduced.
- The maximum e-liquid capacity of all pre-filled cartridges, pod devices, and tanks will be 2ml.
- Overseas sales will be heavily restricted, but they will not be prohibited. If you plan on purchasing from us, please verify with your local customs beforehand.
- In addition, if three EU member states decide e-cigarettes are hazardous, the EU has the authority to outright ban them. As a result, the products would be prohibited
